He was born in Asti (Italy) on 6th May 1969. After his A Levels, he enrolled in a Laurea in Lingue e Letterature Straniere in Torino where he received a first-class degree (110/110 cum laude). As part of the degree program, he spent a semester in Saarbrücken studying at the Universität des Saarlandes (Germany).
After graduation in 1994, he moved to Glasgow where he enrolled in a Ph.D. at the University of Glasgow. He also taught Italian at the Caledonian University and in various other businesses, additionally he was employed as a translator for Locate in Scotland.
In 1998 he moved to London where he worked for Precise Press, a media monitoring company specialising in IT news, where he soon became European Readers' Manager. Between 2000 and 2002, he enrolled in a MSc in Information Technology at the University of North London. He gradually changed his career path and worked for a year as Analyst Programmer for eCreationtech, an interactive TV software development and consultancy firm. In 2003, he moved back to Italy.
After working for 6 months as Web Developer for Near s.r.l., he started working for STAR Group as Project Manager. He began by managing translation and localization projects, after that he project-led a technical documentation and translation project for Ferrari.
Since January 2007 Roberto Bertuol has been an independent IT and Linguistic Consultant who manages various technical writing, translation, and documents digitalization projects for a number of companies both in Italy and abroad.
